Registered Nurse — ICU (Travel)

Job Overview

Experienced ICU Travel RN needed for a high-acuity 42-bed critical care unit at HWL Health System in Utica, NY. You will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and life-support interventions across Neuro/Medical, Cardiothoracic, and Surgical/Trauma ICU settings. Night shift, 12-hour blocks, 36 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients across Neuro/Medical, Cardiothoracic, and Surgical/Trauma ICU
• Monitor and manage patients on ventilators, IABP, CRRT, ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and targeted temperature management
• Administer and titrate critical care medications and infusions
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EPIC EMR
• Float to other units as required (excluding Behavioral Health and ED unless holding patients)

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, or Neuro ICU)
• CRRT experience required (Prismaflex, PRISMA, or NxStage)
• Active New York State RN license verified through NURSYS
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• BLS — American Heart Association required
• ACLS — American Heart Association required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
• Cardiac and heart surgery experience highly preferred
• Local candidates within 75 miles considered at local rate

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Scrub color: Navy.
